7 Days Egypt Pyramids and Nile Cruise – Cairo, Aswan and Luxor Tour

Spend the morning at the Great Pyramids of Giza: Cheops, one of the oldest and largest pyramids on the Giza plateau, Chephren and Mykerinos, and the defending Sphinx, one of the most majestic and enduring monuments of Egypt. Next, visit the Papyrus Institute to see the processes and efforts it took to make this ancient form of paper, and enjoy the illustrated Egyptian art and stories depicting Egyptian lifestyle and culture. Later, visit a Perfume Factory for a demonstration in the art of perfume making, then stop at a Jewelry Shop to browse exquisite ornaments. In the afternoon, visit the Grand Egyptian Museum, which houses one of the world's greatest collections of Egyptian artifacts, boasting more than 136,000 artifacts from over five thousand years of Egyptian history. After breakfast at the hotel, transfer to the airport for the flight to Aswan. On arrival, proceed to the cruise terminal and board the Nile Cruise. Embark on a sightseeing tour of Aswan, visiting the High Dam, Philae Temple and the Unfinished Obelisk. Overnight on board the cruise. Breakfast at the hotel, lunch and dinner on board the cruise.

This morning, proceed for an excursion to Abu Simbel, flanked by the almost-as-impressive temple of Nefertari; the entire site is truly awe-inspiring (optional). Then sail to Kom Ombo, the home of Sobek, the crocodile god worshipped in pre-dynastic times. Witness the ancient remains of a temple of a somewhat unusual style, in fact a double temple, with the right-hand temple consecrated to Sobek and the second dedicated to Haroeris, the falcon-headed sky god, built overlooking the Nile. Continue sailing to Edfu, and on arrival take a horse carriage ride to visit the Horus Temple, the best-preserved temple in all of Egypt, with many inscriptions in the Coptic language and paintings from that era. Sail today to cross the Esna Lock on the Nile to reach Luxor. Later, visit the Karnak Temple and the Luxor Temple. Overnight on board the cruise. Breakfast, lunch and dinner on board the cruise.

Early this morning, after breakfast, disembark from the Nile Cruise. Visit the Hatshepsut Temple, the Valley of the Kings and the Memnon Colossi, then transfer to Luxor airport for the domestic flight to Cairo. Check in at the hotel in Cairo. Overnight in Cairo.
