Embark on a 7-day journey through Namibia's most spectacular landscapes, from the towering red sand dunes of Sossusvlei to the charming coastal town of Swakopmund. Begin in Windhoek before travelling to Sossusvlei, home to some of the world's highest sand dunes, and climb Dune 45, explore the surreal Deadvlei and discover the dramatic Sesriem Canyon. Travel to the coast to experience the meeting of desert and ocean at Sandwich Harbour, with optional activities such as quad biking and camel rides.

Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 1

Arrival in Windhoek

On arriving in Namibia, transfer to accommodation in Windhoek. Check in and arrange breakfast packs for the next morning. Embark on the city centre and head to the Kapana district. The evening is spent at leisure; the lodge is within walking distance of the mall, and a dress-up dinner is available at Town Lodge Windhoek (own account). Overnight at Town Lodge Windhoek.

Day 2

Windhoek – Sossusvlei

An early start at 06:00 for the transfer to the Truck Port and shuttle to Namib Desert Lodge. Lunch at the lodge is at own account. Sossusvlei is home to the iconic red sand dunes of Namibia, where clear blue skies contrast with giant dunes to make one of the natural wonders of Africa. Attractions include Dune 45, Hiddenvlei, Big Daddy and Deadvlei, as well as Sesriem Canyon and Namib-Naukluft National Park. The afternoon is at leisure; an optional sundowner drive can be booked at N$935 per person. Dinner and overnight at Namib Desert Lodge, Gondwana Collection.

Day 3

Exploring Sossusvlei

An early start for a day purely devoted to exploring Sossusvlei, with a morning excursion visiting Dune 45, Deadvlei, Elim Dunes and Sesriem Canyon. In the afternoon, relax by the pool and enjoy the lodge. Optional hiking trails or a desert night walk at N$290 per person can be booked.

Day 4

Sossusvlei – Swakopmund

The morning is spent at leisure; depart at 13:00 to Swakopmund, stopping en route at Solitaire to taste the best apple pie in Africa and photograph the Tropic of Capricorn sign. Arrive around 18:00 and take a walk to the Jetty; dinner is recommended at Hafeni Cultural Restaurant (own account). Overnight at Swakopmund Sands Hotel.

Day 5

Sandwich Harbour 4x4 Tour

After breakfast, depart at 11:30 for a 4x4 Sandwich Harbour tour, seeing the flamingos, salt mine, pink lake and the area where the ocean meets the desert. Drinks, finger food and return transfer are included; return to the hotel by 18:30. Dinner is recommended at The Tug Restaurant, walking distance from the hotel (own account). Overnight at Swakopmund Sands Hotel.

Day 6

Camel Ride and Quad Biking

Pick up at 10:00 for a 30-minute camel ride and 45 minutes of quad biking. The afternoon is spent at leisure. Dinner is recommended at Ocean Cellar Restaurant (own account). Overnight at Swakopmund Sands Hotel.

Day 7

End of Safari

Receive breakfast packs before pick-up for the shuttle between 06:00 and 06:15 to Windhoek, or at the time advised for the transfer to Walvis Bay Airport.
